Who ya gonna call......Ghostbusters

OK so here is something totally different.....first of all yes I totally believe what you are going to see...second, you are NOT going to believe what you see........

My director has a brother who is a doctor that lives in a condo outside of Boston. He wrote that a few nights ago the temp seemed to drop way down in the condo and his roommates dog just started acting really weird, barking at the wall and just becoming very agitated. So he grabbed his cell phone and took a picture of the dog. After he took the picture he saw this......

To the right of the picture is a shadow which was NOT there when he looked up at the dog.
The shadow falls over the table (you can just see a little bit of it) and onto the floor just where the dog is staring and barking.
CREEPY!!!!!
The dog then jumped off the couch and went down the hall still barking and something so he followed and took this picture......

If you look in the hallway on the left you can see it..................they did not see this until it was a picture. The (person/ghost) is about 4 ft tall. Again......CREEPY!

But the best was still to come. After every thing had calmed down and they went to bed(hello, if it was me I'd be at a Motel 6 by now) the dog started going crazy again at about 3am and they ran into the hall and just started snapping pictures with their phones again. They took about 50 pictures and this is what they got......

Standing in the same spot at the other person/ghost is what seems like a little girl. AAAAHHHH
I would be in another state by now.
Melissa's brother swears that these are not a joke but something both he and his roommate and the dog are experiencing.
So I ask you once again......Who ya gonna call?.........

Still Unpacking

So we are still unpacking but here are some updated pictures.

Here is the new house. We are on the 2nd floor. On the right side of the house is a private entrance that goes into the kitchen. We can also go up through the front door.
This is the front of the house. The window on the right is the bedroom and the one on the right is the living room. We also get to use half of the garage.

Here is the living room a little less boxed in. We got a lot done on Saturday morning.

Another view of the living room.

Lynn is very happy that we have moved in and so am I. It will be great when we get settled.

We are Moved.....kinda

So, we are in our new place officially!!!!! Yea!!!!!!

There is only one little thing....................WE ARE LIVING SURROUNDED BY BOXES!!!!
It's going to take a month(or 6) to get everything unpacked and put where we want it.
But the good news is that we are in and totally moved out of the other place. Of course it was tight. The couple that was living here didn't move out until the 30th....if you remember the 30th is when we were supposed to move in. Well, they moved out in the morning and we moved in
in the afternoon.

Here are some pictures of the new place........

This is Oklahoma! Barb(our landlady) had this space listed as a walk in closet, we are going to use it for an office and scrapbook storage room. I call it Oklahoma cause that is what it is shaped like.....Lynn doesn't think I'm funny. The top picture is of the "panhandle" and the next one is the big open area. The wall to the left of the window has a built in two person desk.

These pictures are of the living room(no funny name involved here). Just try to see the possibilities around the boxes. Two nice size windows in the room and plenty of wall space for bookshelves and artwork(pictures of kids).

The Bathroom! Nice size(compared to our last one). Double sinks, under counter storage, private potty area and nice shower. Love the windows, they get sun all day and face our back yard.

Biz(the cat) is checking out the linen closet, very excited about this. Tons of storage space, which I'm sure will fill up quickly. But still nice to have.

The bedroom, not huge but plenty big enough. We each have our own closet on the left wall across from the plants window with a nook in between them for a dresser.

The kitchen, not big, but compared to our last place it's HUGE! We have a working stove(under the boxes) a pantry(behind some boxes) and a little counter space(under some more boxes).
The kitchen also has a door for a private entrance up the side of the house. The window above the sink also faces the back yard and lets in lots of light.
So there is our new place. Again, try to imagine it without all the boxes. I'll post some "after" pictures too when we have finished unpacking(in 4-6 months).

Christmas in Wisconsin

So....here we go again! It's Christmas, we are packing to move to our new place in Fairfield, Lynn has a ton of work at the office and,.......Yep, you guessed it, we are driving to Wisconsin for Christmas!

OK, at this point it's no longer a question, we are just plain NUTS!

We are going to leave the evening of the 23rd and be back the 29th and the movers are coming the 30th and we have to be totally out of the Ansonia house by the 31st! But hey, No Pressure!

We can do this, we are very determined women........and we are nuts!

So I pack the rental car and take a nap when I get home while waiting for Lynn, we leave at about 9:30pm on the 23rd.

Now with all the stress of packing and finding a new place and just the utter turmoil that is our lives at this point.......I'm starting to feel a little sick. Lynn has a refill for a Z-pack, so I ask her to fill it and I take it to prevent any sickness from hitting me. We head out and Lynn takes a nap to start our trip and wakes up a few hours later SICK AS A DOG!!!!!!! I guess she should have taken the Z-pack.

Now we are on the road and too far in to stop and turn around so I tell Lynn to keep sleeping and I crank up the Christmas carols and BOOK IT across Pennsylvania! It was the dead of night and I had the cruise control set on about 90mph! We are going to get there and get there fast!
After about 12 hours of me driving (loaded with diet coke, snacks and sugar free Red Bull) I needed to sleep so Lynn took over, once again SICK AS A DOG! Bless her heart she did great.....for about 3 hours. Then I took over again and once more set the cruise and took off.

We did great arriving in just 21 hours (shaved 3 hours off last years trip)! We only hit bad weather north of Chicago almost there. Julia and Ben were very excited to see us, they knew we were coming but Lynn's Mom and Larry didn't.

Now Christmas day is so much fun with kids. (not that I'm not a big kid and have fun myself) Julia is the kid who tears into everything and barely looks at it before she has pounced onto the next present. Great technique but all to soon there is nothing left to open.
Ben, on the other hand, wants to play with each present and has no interest in the next one. So after 20-30 minutes Julia has opened everything and is looking at Ben's pile still left unopened.....there could be a problem here. Now Julia is ask Ben, "Hey Ben, do this one next, here I'll start it for you." RRRRRIIIIIPPPPP Luckily for her Ben took it all in stride.

Lynn's family had to go spend part of Christmas day with Jeff(Dad)'s side of the family so that was good because after presents Lynn had to back to bed.

I will make this trip whenever Lynn wants to go because while Lynn was sleeping, Jeff and Julia were also taking a nap, Cathy was getting ready to go, Ben and I were playing with the new Batcave and he stopped playing and looked at me and said, "Nanner, I love it when you bring Aunt Lynnie here for Christmas." OK, now I'm a sobbing mess, dude you are 4 years old and you have the Heart of a Lion!

So we had a lot of fun. Lynn, Cathy and I took Julia to see the new Alvin and the Chipmunks movie, we watched UP!, we made Hello Kitty fortune cookies(if you are ever offered one just decline), we did many art projects and lots of other indoor stuff cause it was FREEZING!!!!! Of course it is Wisconsin.

So to sum it all up, WE ARE NUTS! But we had a great time and it's so nice to visit with Julia and Ben.

P.S. We are all moved in but it will be a month before the boxes are all emptied!
pictures of the new place next time.

You're not going to belive what happened now!

So, let me start at the beginning.........I was born%&^&#$@, wait that's too far back.
The fun(?) starts the Wednesday before Thanksgiving. Lynn and I arrive home and get the mail which includes a letter from our Landlady(I won't write what we really call her)saying that as of Jan. 1st 2010 are rent will increase by $500! WHAT? We have 2 options......
1. we can sign a 6 month lease or
2. we can just go month to month and can we please let her know by Dec. 5th.

We went with option 3.......see ya!

So instead of celebration Thanksgiving, and decorating the house for Christmas(which we do every Thanksgiving weekend) we started packing the house.

We have lived there for the past 6 years so there is a lot of stuff to do.

1. we get a storage shed since we have to be out on the 31st and so far we have no where to move to, so start making boxes to go to the shed.
2. make a pile of stuff to give to goodwill
3. make a HUGE pile of stuff to just take to the dump

So we start looking for a new place....in December.....in the snow.........when no one is looking to move and there is not a lot of options for places.

Lynn is checking out Craig's list everyday and I contact a Mom at my school who is a real estate agent for some possibilities.

We are really stuck, we have some great friends who let us know that we could totally move in with them if we need to, but we still need to get our stuff out!
We got lucky and found a great place 2 blocks from Lynn's office! OK one problem solved! If it was only that easy, the couple living up there now bought a house so we can move in when they close on their house and move out. (cause that always goes smoothly). They were going to close two days before Christmas (we hope) but we still don't know if they are out or not.

Now in the midst(is that how you spell that?) of all this we had already planned to rent a car and head out to Wisconsin for Christmas with Lynn's family. Do we go? Do we stay? Do we start pulling our hair out? Did we run out of options?

Well, here is the plan as of right now.......we came to Wisconsin(I'll write about that trip later) Our house is all packed up. We leave to drive home today(Monday Dec, 28th) and we move Wednesday Dec. 30th.

I'm just sure everything will turn out just right and there will be no problems at all with the move or anything else..........

....as long as...........
the other couple has moved out..........
we don't get trapped by weather on the way home.........
we can't get moved............
my head doesn't explode!!!!!!!!!!!!!

So now that you are all caught up, is anyone else tired!

Nanner

P.S. Most of the trips to the storage shed have been done with the Honda! Only 7 or 8 boxes will fit in the Honda at one time. Fun times!

Christmas Music

So we are 4 days from Halloween, then getting a bead on a nice Tom Turkey for Thanksgiving, and finally Christmas rounding out the holiday season.

I know most people have very hard and fast rules for when you can begin to listening to Christmas music......only after Thanksgiving......only after Dec. 1st........any time in Nov/Dec.......there are as many rules as families.

I've always thought that to just listen in December is not nearly enough time, but for others that's more than enough (right Dad?).

When Lynn and I were nannies we always had the last week in August thru Labor Day and we would road trip to Wisconsin to visit Lynn's family. Our tradition was that on the 21 hour trip home we would only listen to Christmas music thus starting the holiday season. Most people thought we were a little nuts but we loved it...........it was car karaoke all the way to Connecticut!

Let's face it, its some of the only music we know all the words to. Plus, it just makes you happy when you hear it, can you really frown when you hear Dean Martin singing "Let it Snow" or Bing Crosby singing "White Christmas" or even the Muppets singing "We Wish You a Merry Christmas"!

I think Christmas music needs to be played whenever you need a quick pick me up, pop in your favorite Christmas CD and let it fly! (Maybe that's just me?)

Til next time.........Merry Christmas!
